Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine
and Surgery (B.A.M.S)

Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S) course of 5 and 1/2 years duration which includes one year compulsory internship.

 

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Passing marks for eligibility in admission to Ayurveda -UG course and Ayurveda – UG regulations courses should be as per the ASU&H-UG regulations and should be followed strictly. The details qualifications for different categories are as follows: 
  2. Candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the aforesaid qualifying examination in the case of general category and 40% Marks in the case of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. 
  3. In respect of persons with disability as specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the minimum qualifying marks in the said qualifying examination are as follows: a) In Physics, Chemistry, and Biology shall be 45% in the case of the general category. (For PwD candidates only) b) 40% in the case of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. (for PwD candidates only). 
  4. No candidate shall be admitted to BAMS, BSMS, BUMS & BHMS Degree Courses unless he/she has attained the age of seventeen years on or before the 31st December of the year of his/her admission in the first year of the course. Further, there is no upper age limit for admission to ASU&H-UG courses. 
  5. To be eligible for admission to an undergraduate course for an academic year, it shall be necessary for a candidate to obtain a minimum of marks at the 50th percentile in the ‘National Eligibility Entrance Test for the undergraduate course’ held for the said academic year: Provided that in respect of- (A) candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes, the minimum marks shall be at the 40th percentile; (B) candidates with benchmark disabilities specified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (49 of 2016), the minimum marks shall be at the 45th percentile in the case of the General category and 40th percentile in the case of the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. 

Procedure for Admission

The admission procedures/formalities for all the seats (100 Seats) will be carried out by State Government through Karnataka Examination Authority. Hence candidates need to frequently visit the website kea.kar.nic.in to get the update about the admission procedure, make registration on the said website and proceed accordingly.
